There\’s massive money in abdominals, and the fitness giants know it. So, instead of leading you straight to the information, they\’ve created thousands of products designed to stop you from getting what you want, and keep on paying for the newest and most technically advanced AB machine. The problem? 99% of these abdominal contraptions are bogus. Don\’t let yourself waste your precious time and money on these false workouts, instead focus on the AB exercises that really work, and leave your money in your pocket and your fat sweating off your body. These five exercises will have you working your way towards great abs in no time at all.

1 – The Deadlift Known as the king of exercises, the deadlift isn\’t for wimps. As one of the three core lifts of international powerlifters, the deadlift is associated with big, musclebound strongmen. Don\’t get worried though, deadlifts won\’t make you look like a giant overnight. It takes a very specific diet to get the type of physique that those guys have, and without it, deadlifts will simply work out your legs, back, and abs very effectively. A true must for any AB routine.

2 – The Squat While the squat is primarily a leg exercise, it relies on the abdominals in order to keep the body straight and safe during the lift. When you\’re balancing weight on your shoulders, your body needs to engage your abdominals to keep itself upright. Move through the movement and keep your abs reasonably tense, and your chest puffed out. While your legs may ache right afterwards, it\’ll be your abs that see the true benefit in a couple of months.

3 – The Sit Up This is a classic abdominal isolation exercise, and is incredibly effective when performed alongside the two other major lifts. For best results, do your sit ups at the end of your weights routine, and after any major cardio. Isolation exercises are always best done at the end of your routine, as they stress muscle groups that have already been exercised in your major lifts.

4 – The Military Press This is another weighted exercise, and one that also exercises your chest, shoulders and arms. In order to engage the abdominals, you need to stand upright while performing this lift — sitting down takes the strain off your abdominals and instead places it on your legs. Simply push your weights from shoulder height to above your head, all the while using your abdominals to keep your body straight and upright.

5 – The Leg Raise This one requires a small amount of equipment, but nothing that your local gym can\’t provide. Another great exercise to end your routine with, the leg raise involved hanging from either a chin-up bar or a leg raise frame, and simply raising your legs to your waist, all the while keeping them perfectly straight and pointed. Save this one for the end of your routine — it\’ll exhaust your stomach and leave your abs pumped.

Abs Work Out to Firm and Flatten Your Abs

Here are two exercises that, when combined, make for a great abs work out. These exercises were found by a study at San Diego State University to be very effective in developing both your abdominal muscles, and your obliques. And all that is required is an exercise ball. So lets get started.

The first exercise is called the bicycle maneuver. To do it, simply lie on your back and put your hands behind your head like you were doing a crunch. Now bring up your knees and begin to do a pedaling motion, as if you were on a bicycle (hence the name of the exercise). Your legs should take turns being bent and extended. When your right leg is bent, raise your body up and touch it with your left elbow. When your left leg is bent, raise your body up and touch it with your right elbow. Such keep alternating these for about 15 reps. Now on to the second part of the abs work out.

This part of the abs work out requires the exercise ball. Sit on the ball and lean back until you are parallel with the floor. Remember to keep your feet on the ground. Now just do crunches like you normally would. Your body should be at no more than a 45 degree angle. To make the exercise harder, move your feet closer together. This makes the exercise less stable and really works on your obliques. Like the above part of the abs work out, do about 15 reps.

So there you have two great exercises to include in your abs work out. But remember, these two exercises are just a couple among many exercises proven to build your abs. Work Out Exercises For Abs

For those that wish to work out their abs, variation in exercises is extremely important as it completes the complete workout for the abs. Just sticking to abs isn’t the solutions, but crunches, and oblique exercises must be included as well.

If you wish to have a clearly defined abs or even a six pack abs, then it is important that you have a sensible abs workout. The abdominal muscle consists:

Tranverse Abdominus
Rectus Abdominus
Internal Oblique
External Oblique

All of these need to be exercised well in order to achieve the toned look that you want. When you have a great abs, it not only looks great but also improves the posture that you have.

The abs will only show when the body has a healthy weight to fat ratio. If there is an inch of fat, then the abs don’t show through. Therefore the body would need to shed all the excess fat before the muscles can be seen.

The abs workout should include these exercises along with some cardiovascular exercises. It is also important to eat healthy and take adequate amount of rest as well. Supplements will provide nutrition; however, you will still need to do the abs workout. Work Out Exercises For Abs

Sit-ups

Sit ups are an important part of the workout, but those are not all the exercises. You would also need to do crunches. 2-3 sets of crunches that include 15-20 repetitions each should be included in the abs workout. These crunches can be done on the floor, on a bench or can be done using the physio ball as well. An advanced version of the crunches can be performed by resting the weights on the chest.

Reverse crunches

Reverse crunches should also be included in the workout as well.

Twisting Exercises

The oblique exercises that impact the left and the right obliques should also be included as well. The best exercise for the obliques is the twisting exercises. These can be done on the floor.

Remember that a variation of exercises done in the abs workout will help you to get the abs that you want rather than mindless repetition of a single exercise.

There are a lot of us out there that dream of having a sexy set of abs.  We see how people respond and look at someone with rock hard abs.  People with great bodies get more attention and respect from their peers.  Having a nice set of abs will give you more confidence in your everyday life.

How much would you spend to have rock hard abs?  How much time would you commit and invest to get six pack abs?  It’s all about dedication and determination.

It all goes back to what your mom and dad said when you were a child, “You can be anything you want to be”.  It may sound repetitive by now, but as long as you put your mind into something, there is no reason you goals cannot be achieved.  The mind is very powerful and is a reflection of your body.

If you can dedicate yourself yourself and set goals, anything is possible.  Dedication is a big key to success.  The correct way to obtain something you want, is to set one major goal and have subset goals.  This way you can gauge yourself by taking little steps to reach what you really want.

Your major goal should be set as obtaining a six pack.  From there, you will need to set small goals to reach your ultimate goal.  Subset goals should include small ab workouts within the first week.  If this is your first time working out your abs, you will be sore for the first couple days.  Stick with your scheduled ab workouts and dedicate yourself.  Keep in mind that having a great set of abs takes time and hard work.

With having great abs, comes a lot of hard work.  Subset goals should be set in moderate increments.  These increments should be attainable, but still while pushing your limits.  Make these goals complete with details, time and dates.  Make sure you are positive and motivated when starting your goals.  Make review points during your ab workouts.  These review points should include an assessment of your progress and any adjustments that may need to be made.

When starting out your workouts, make sure you have the motivation you need.  Repetition is a main point you will need to stress during your ab workouts.  To see results, there must be a strict schedule that you will need to stick with.  Commitment breeds success when trying to obtain your ab workout goals.

Having a great set of abs does not take long to do.  The abdomen has six different muscle groups that are associated with the visuals if a six pack.  From the upper middle to lower middle groups include the epigastric, umbilical and the hypogastric.  Along both sides of the abdomen are three other muscle groups which will present “love handles” if not in shape.  These muscle groups are the hypochondriac, lumbar and the iliac.  Making ab workouts around these muscle groups will result in a nice six pack.

Other issues that may neglect the visualization of a six pack is extra weight.  If your bodies body mass index (B.M.I.) is 25 or higher, then you will need to do aerobic exercises.  You may have a six pack under your stomach, but it will not show if there is another layer of flab on top of it.  Doing cardiovascular exercises with a disciplinary regimen of ab workouts will give you a nice set of six pack abs in no time.
