The Truth about Abs is authored by Mike Geary who is a personal trainer and nutritionist. I’m going to spill the beans and let you in on the secret to great abs. It starts with nutrition! So forget the crazy ab machines and routines. It’s what you put in your mouth that counts. As a physician who has reviewed hundreds of diet and weight loss programs, in addition to thousands of clinical and scientific studies, I was actually quite impressed by the nutritional information found in Truth About Abs. For the most part it was right on. There were a few inaccuracies (dairy for weight loss, soy is fattening etc) but overall I think the nutritional information was spot on and a welcome relief to a lot of the rubbish you find in many diet and weight loss books.

The real strength of Truth about Abs is the exercise and fitness section. Mike Geary knows his stuff when it comes to developing a pair of six packs in the shortest time possible using a few simple and effective routines. While I think the Truth About Abs strength is the exercise and fitness section it also points to a weakness. While the Truth About Abs has a simple meal plan outline, there are no recipes for you to follow his plan in a straight forward way at home. So while the information is sound, Mike leaves it up to you as far as implementing his dietary information.

Overall, if you’re looking for a fool-proof fitness and workout routine with some sound nutritional information I highly recommend this program.

Getting 6 pack abs is one of fitness goals and with the most common reason. A sculpted stomach is the centerpiece of your body and look great while you’re on the beach.

Here is a selection of abdominal workouts and tips to help you get a step closer to achieving a flat stomach.

You can get great abs by following a workout at home and you do not need much space or equipment.

There are 3 main elements that will help you achieve your ripped abs.

Training
Nutrition
Lifestyle

The fastest way to sculpt a six pack is to put your body into fat burning mode, because to see your abdominal muscles your body fat percentage must be low.

Workouts that you must follow to get 6 pack abs should be those that focus primarily on the fat burning by resistance exercises, cardio exercises and abdominal exercises.

There are several ways you can maximize your muscle building and fat loss exercise. Weight lifting is not just for those who want to bulk and those looking to burn fat should include weight training into their workouts.

Unlike cardio your body keeps burning calories long after you stop working with weights.

A key to obtain the best results from your workouts is to mix your training. Forget the 3 sets of 10 repetitions boring you hear other websites and magazines talking about. Your body responds to shocks and to make changes you need to shock your body changing.

Here are some examples of different methods to spice up your workout routine at home to accelerate fat loss and muscle growth.
.

Try 10 sets of 3 with an average weight, resting 20 seconds between sets.

Try using a heavier weight and complete 6 sets of 6 reps, make a 3 minutes between each sprint treadmill weightlifting set.

Try using a weight closely and do 10 sets of 1 representative, with 30 seconds between sets.

Try using a lighter weight than normal and only 1 set of 50 representatives each year, an ab workout that such men.

Try a workout based on a single full-body exercise such as dumbbell presses and dumbbell presses or clean & squat, and do nothing but that exercise for 20 intense minutes.

Try a circuit of 12 different exercises covering the entire body without any rest between exercises.

Try the same circuit of 12 exercises on your subsequent workout, but the whole circuit in reverse order.

Try your usual exercises at a faster repetition on a workout, then a super-slow speed on your next workout.

Try to fill five 30 minute workouts a week, followed by workouts three 1-h the next week.

Try to make all the sets drop your exercises, where you drop the weight between sets and repetitions to keep without any rest until complete muscular fatigue (usually about 5-6 games in a row).

This shouldn’t let you disappoint though, keep working on your body and muscles and even if the muscles specially the abs take some time to develop, at least you will be gaining stamina and overall fitness during that process.

Good ab workouts for men come in many variants, some require expensive machines that need to be installed before you can use them while others don’t require any machines and can be done with just body weight and a ball, belt or bench. It doesn’t matter how expensive or cheap an exercise is because our bodies don’t care about how much you paid for a certain machine or gym class. If the exercise is effective and works on the specific body muscles, you will see change and improvement. The important thing here is that you continue following a good diet so that your body is always equipped with the required nutrients whenever it needs them.

The first thing people do when they feel the desire of sculpting great abs is they start immediately with crunches. It is the most common exercise we know for our abs. But, are crunches the perfect way for you to have a small belly or the six-pack muscles you dream of?

Maybe. Even in the old days, gym instructors and trainers always believed that crunches are the best way to flatten your tummies. The basic crunches have transformed over time into a variety of style and techniques which also can give a more total body workout. To sit over an exercise ball to do the crunch is an excellent representation of this evolution. You can plop the ball beneath your mid or lower back. You have a choice whether you want to put your arms behind your back or simply cross them up above your chest. Work with your abs to tighten the bottom of your rib cage down to your pelvic. You must focus on keeping the ball still. It is an easy exercise that works not just for your abs but also for your entire body. It is fantastic for improving your core strength and stability.

You can also observe the development of the crunch by the positioning of the arms. During our younger days in school, you may have been trained to do crunches by putting your hands behind your head or cross them on top of your chest. One of the latest and improved crunch is particularly for the upper abs done by extending your arms straight behind your head. Your aim is to bring up your shoulder blades away from the floor through the power of your abs while maintaining your arms straight and parallel to your ears. Unlike before, you don’t need to sit up all the way anymore.

Another kind of crunch is the reverse crunch which is sure to be one of the most effective ab workouts. Instead of moving up your upper body from the floor, this time it will be your knees that must be pulled towards your chest while keeping your feet together. The goal of the exercise is to raise your hips off the ground instead of getting the strength from your legs to achieve the target position.

Lastly, crunches have progressed in one final way which is the full vertical crunch. This is a kind of crunch that covers both the upper and lower ab muscles. It is performed with your back on the floor while pulling your legs up in the direction of the ceiling. Put your hands at the back of your head and move up your shoulder blades off the ground. Subsequently, you will form a “u” shape with your upper body by thrusting your heels to the direction of the ceiling.

Crunches may be one of the most effective ab workouts. But then again, some other known exercise routine can do excellent for your abs too. One of the examples is the bicycle exercise which has been effective in working the rectus abdominis muscles. It helps you obtain the true six-pack abs and forms the oblique muscles on your waist. Again lay on the floor for this formation placing your hands beneath your head. Pull your knees in the direction of your chest while moving up your shoulder blades from the ground. Extend your left leg and twist to the right your upper body pushing your left elbow all the way to your right knee. Next, shift sides as you continue to interchange for 2 to 16 reps. This ab workout and some other exercise routine such as the captain’s leg raise and the ab rocker can make your dreams of having superb abs come true.

As you can see, there are many ways to specifically target your ab musculature. By varying your style of crunches, you can indeed progress and strengthen your abs. Combining this strategy with a healthy diet, you are well on your way to achieving your goal of perfect abs.

The first thing people do when they feel the desire of sculpting great abs is they start immediately with crunches. It is the most common exercise we know for our abs. But, are crunches the perfect way for you to have a small belly or the six-pack muscles you dream of?

Maybe. Even in the old days, gym instructors and trainers always believed that crunches are the best way to flatten your tummies. The basic crunches have transformed over time into a variety of style and techniques which also can give a more total body workout. To sit over an exercise ball to do the crunch is an excellent representation of this evolution. You can plop the ball beneath your mid or lower back. You have a choice whether you want to put your arms behind your back or simply cross them up above your chest. Work with your abs to tighten the bottom of your rib cage down to your pelvic. You must focus on keeping the ball still. It is an easy exercise that works not just for your abs but also for your entire body. It is fantastic for improving your core strength and stability.

You can also observe the development of the crunch by the positioning of the arms. During our younger days in school, you may have been trained to do crunches by putting your hands behind your head or cross them on top of your chest. One of the latest and improved crunch is particularly for the upper abs done by extending your arms straight behind your head. Your aim is to bring up your shoulder blades away from the floor through the power of your abs while maintaining your arms straight and parallel to your ears. Unlike before, you don’t need to sit up all the way anymore.

Another kind of crunch is the reverse crunch which is sure to be one of the most effective ab workouts. Instead of moving up your upper body from the floor, this time it will be your knees that must be pulled towards your chest while keeping your feet together. The goal of the exercise is to raise your hips off the ground instead of getting the strength from your legs to achieve the target position.

Lastly, crunches have progressed in one final way which is the full vertical crunch. This is a kind of crunch that covers both the upper and lower ab muscles. It is performed with your back on the floor while pulling your legs up in the direction of the ceiling. Put your hands at the back of your head and move up your shoulder blades off the ground. Subsequently, you will form a “u” shape with your upper body by thrusting your heels to the direction of the ceiling.

Crunches may be one of the most effective ab workouts. But then again, some other known exercise routine can do excellent for your abs too. One of the examples is the bicycle exercise which has been effective in working the rectus abdominis muscles. It helps you obtain the true six-pack abs and forms the oblique muscles on your waist. Again lay on the floor for this formation placing your hands beneath your head. Pull your knees in the direction of your chest while moving up your shoulder blades from the ground. Extend your left leg and twist to the right your upper body pushing your left elbow all the way to your right knee. Next, shift sides as you continue to interchange for 2 to 16 reps. This ab workout and some other exercise routine such as the captain’s leg raise and the ab rocker can make your dreams of having superb abs come true.

As you can see, there are many ways to specifically target your ab musculature. By varying your style of crunches, you can indeed progress and strengthen your abs. Combining this strategy with a healthy diet, you are well on your way to achieving your goal of perfect abs.
